The Town of Columbus is a small town located in the Blue Ridge mountains of Western North Carolina. In the historic downtown, see one of the oldest courthouses in North Carolina, Tour the House of Flags and grab lunch or dinner at a number of restaurants. White Oak Mountain Road is one of our favorite scenic drives in the North Carolina mountains. The Doughboy Statue was built in 1920 to honor the men from Polk County who fought and died in WWI.
