Barb began clogging in 1981. She also began teaching and in 1988 she was invited to become a member of the Northwest Clogging Association (NWCA). Since then, Barb has attended most NWCA workshops and also taught at some. Barb received the Val Mackey award from NWCA for her promotion of clogging.
Barb has taught at Canadian National Square Dance Convention, seven Provincial Conventions and CLOG National Conventions.
She became a Certified Clogging Instructor through CLOG and organized the first Canadian CCI program. She now is a mentor for those in the CCI program and helps teach CCI classes.
Barb has taken a group to the Austrian Alps Performing Festival and on a clogging cruise to the Western Caribbean.
Barb teaches three clogging classes a week and with her husband Larry, sponsors the annual Sealion Stomp clogging workshop in Nanaimo, B.C.
Barb is married to clogger and active C.L.O.G. volunteer, Larry Guenette and resides in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. They have two daughters and four grandchildren.
