We all have one, whether it is written down on paper or just in our mind’s eye, right?  There are things we’d like to do….some day when….if ever we have the chance…..  They fill a number of different areas of our lives, home, family, hobbies, travel.  Do you have a list for each of those areas?  Or just one big list that encompasses them all.  What if they could overlap?  That would be really cool.  Get 2 for 1.

So what are some of the things that hinder us from checking some of these things off?  One thing for me personally, was doing things ‘alone’.  In a previous article, I did talk about going to workshops ‘alone’.  And that really applies here too.  How many of us have clogging workshops on our bucket list?  And really the only thing holding us back is that we’d be ‘alone’. Well, as I wrote about, clogging workshops are family.  You can walk into a hall and out on the floor and you are immediately surrounded by family.  Someone you had never known or spoken to before that day will become someone you share so much with for many years to come.  You may only see them at workshops or on Facebook, but you immediately know that you could count on them for anything.  Because they are family.

So what about combining bucket items?  Think about the BIG workshops that fill that list.  Nickel City Clogging Festival (check), National CLOG Convention (check check check), Smokey Mountain Encore, Fontana Clogging Jamboree (check), Sunshine State Clogging Jamboree and the list goes on.  Are there travel destinations on your list?  Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the Caribbean? Can we get some 2fers here?  ABSOLUTELY!!

  • Nickel City Clogging Festival  – Niagara Falls—a natural wonder
  • National CLOG Convention—it travels, where it is could be where you want to go!
  • Smokey Mountain Encore—Gatlinburg and the beautiful Smokey Mountains—breath taking
  • Fontana Clogging Jamboree—the ‘home’ of clogging, just the history alone is worth the visit, but tour the Blue Ridge Parkway—amazing
  • Sunshine State Clogging Jamboree—any NASCAR fans out there, tour the track.  Or just soak up the sun on the gorgeous beach.
  • Australia—Australian Clogging Association National Convention
  • New Zealand—New Zealand Clogging Association National Convention
  • Germany—Renegade Quicksteppers Anniversary
  • Jamaica—clogging and cruising ?  Oh yeah, sign me up!

Can you imagine the possibilities?  And there are clogging tours planned by different instructors to combine these things also, so pricing is good, you are going with a bigger group (even if you are going alone—see!)

So let’s get some of those items checked off and if we, can let’s do a 2fer!  I can say that I have been able to do several 2fers, and let’s be honest, what is more fun that spending time with your clogging family AND exploring new areas?  I can say honestly that a lot of my bucket list items are getting checked because of and in conjunction with clogging.  And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

So as you can see, the possibilities are endless.

The friendships are endless.

The experiences are endless.

And your bucket list?  Well, that is shrinking …. or really, being replaced with new items as we complete things right?
